ColorStrokes 2.0 for the Mac has now been released, and it is on sale for just $1.99 (70% off regular price) for the rest of the week.
There is really nothing bad to say about the app. Very simple interface and straightforward tools let you create interesting art very quickly. You immediately know what you are doing. The app was stable – even on my 2006 iMac. (I continue to wait for a new model this fall. Pretty please.)
I’ll try to post a video of this app over the weekend (or maybe I’ll dig around on YouTube a bit). Update: I found a great video that really does a superb job showing the Color Splash Studio (the older version of ColorStrokes), and one that shows the new recolor feature and updated GUI in the current release of ColorStrokes.
You can download ColorStrokes on the Mac App Store.
ColorStrokes™ is the unique app that lets you manipulate colors on photos in any possible way.
★ ReColor your images ★
You have all the colors and tones under the hand, so pick whatever you like, mix colors and make photos look excitingly different. It’s a unique way to bring new life to the old snaps, made in black&white times.
★ Create stunning “color splash” images ★
Convert color photos to monochrome and reveal the color of specific areas. Select different monochrome layers: (grayscale, vintage, bluetone) or add more drama with special effects.
ColorStrokes™ also features
– Editing tools to enhance your images even further (gamma, contrast, blur, hue, exposure, etc)
– Customized brushes for more precise coloring
– Import images from iPhoto and Aperture
– Export to iPhoto, Aperture or Photoshop
– Share via Facebook, Flickr, Twitter, etc
– Print images
– Order canvas prints right from the app
ColorStrokes™ is an impressive photo editor and works like a charm with Mountain Lion.
There is even more awesomeness and great tools in ColorStrokes™, but you need to check it to find out.
★★★ If you have iPhone/iPod touch, check ColorStrokes™ for your iOS.
