Tiny Planet Photos

The relatively new app called Tiny Planet Photos can be used to create some rather interesting shots. Typically you’ll use a skyline shot, but there are many other things you can do. This shot was created using a curved amphitheater close to where I live (I’ll dig up the original shot tomorrow and post it here so you can see that).

Tiny Planet Photos App is free (ad based). The final output resolution is currently 1000 x 1000 px. You can also see many more photos in this Flickr Group.

Update: This is the shot I used to create the image above.

Hello iPhone, meet a photo app!

Since getting my iPhone I find myself playing with photo apps for at least a bit of every day, so I might as well blog about some of the amazing apps that are out there.

The initial focus of the site will be to do casual reviews of iPhone (and iPad) photo apps and discuss how I use some of them in combination to achieve interesting shots (at least I find them interesting). After that we’ll see where it goes. Nothing is static. Of course I first have to choose a WordPress theme, a tagline, set up a twitter feed, yada yada yada.

I haven’t really done much blogging in the past decade (not really since the 90’s) so I figure it is time to get cranked up again. I’m not a photographer by any stretch of the imagination, but I get a lot of personal satisfaction from some of the pictures I take. Hopefully a reader will find something of interest here in the future (this particular post…not very interesting!).

If anyone else would like to contribute to the blog in the future, feel free to drop me a line at multimediaguy at gmail (will probably add a contact form soon, along with twitter and FB page…all that social stuff!).

As a side note, I wasn’t sure what URL to choose. Tap Tap Photo Apps! sounded nice, but I also got iOSPhotoApps (which links back here). For now I’ll stick with the catchy one. 🙂
